Retainer-Based Technical Assistance

(Foundant Products GLM/SLM)

Foundation staff manage the day-to-day of your Grant and Scholarship programs, but when there is a technical or design change needed within your GLM/SLM system, it may take staff longer to implement the change than you have time for. Braaten Consulting can act as your technical expert for changes and updates to get you back to your work quickly and efficiently.

Grant and Scholarship cycles don’t give much time for process improvement. However, making time for thoughtful year-over-year change is important to ensuring you are working with ease and providing quality.

Braaten Consulting will work with your team to identify pain points from your last cycle, and determine appropriate changes for the next year. Then we will update the processes, email templates, and messaging in your site so that you can move confidently into the coming application cycle.

This can be done annually or quarterly to align with the upcoming work. Service time must be scheduled in advance. (1-3 week timeframe depending on service level.)

Staff Coverage

Each role at a foundation is important to achieving the mission and ensuring that you’re meeting your commitments. Gaps in staffing for any reason can be disruptive to the work of the Foundation. Temporary help in covering for FMLA or a departing staff member requires deep sector knowledge to keep your philanthropic train on it’s tracks.

With a background in grants, scholarships, team management and executive leadership Braaten Consulting can step into most foundation roles. This coverage support can give you the space to hire well, instead of focusing on hiring fast.

Most grant and scholarship administrators are the only people doing this work at their organization. This can make creative problem-solving difficult because there’s no qualified sounding board to talk through and test ideas with.

Braaten Consulting offers topical 1:1 sessions to help you think through your best next steps. Topics can include relationship building within your community, communicating with the public and specific partners, committee management, and more. This service is excellent for new scholarship administrators as additional support through their first year.

Pair Work For Success

Implementing GLM/SLM as a new client can be a heavier lift on your team than you had anticipated. Changing technology systems takes time that your team may struggle to free up.

Braaten Consulting can take some of that lift from your team by doing the hand-to-keyboard form and email template building, allowing your team to focus on reviewing and editing, rather than building forms from scratch.
